CrockFest at a Glance / General Information

The Red Wing Collectors Society held its first Convention in 1977 at the Goodhue County Historical Society in Red Wing, MN. In the early years, the Convention was also held at the Red Wing American Legion and Minnesota State College Southeast Technical CollegeIn 1996, the Convention made its home at Red Wing High School. In more recent years, CrockFest has been held at the River Bluff Education Center in Red Wing.

The RWCS official CrockFest Convention events begin on Thursday of CrockFest week; however, many events and activities are going on in Red Wing before CrockFest begins.

Red Wing is nestled alongside the Mississippi River and Wisconsin is just across the bridge. This little river town boasts other activities like biking and hiking trails, local museums, and art galleries. CrockFest is a vacation worth taking for the whole family.


Monday/Tuesday:
RWCS Foundation/Pottery Museum of Red Wing’s Outdoor Antique Market

The excitement of buying and selling Red Wing begins early Monday and Tuesday morning in the parking lot of the Pottery Museum of Red Wing. The RWCS Foundation Outdoor Antique Market brings together over 40 antique dealers who set up on the parking lot to sell stoneware, art pottery, dinnerware, and antiques of all kinds. Also, many locals will set up garage sales in their driveways all around Red Wing. With these sales open the hunt begins.
CrockFest attendees can also visit the many local antique shops in the Red Wing area. 


Wednesday
CrockFest Badge Pickup kicks off in the atrium of the Pottery Museum of Red Wing at 1:00 pm. Pre-registered attendees can pick up their badge and other event materials, and purchase the official CrockFest Button. The evening fundraising event hosted by the RWCS Foundation for the Pottery Museum of Red Wing begins at 5:00 pm.


Thursday CrockFest is OPEN!!!!!
This is the official first day of Convention activities at River Bluff Education Center, Red Wing MN. 
All events kick off with registration, and badge pickup at 8:00 am. The schedule begins with the Opening Sessions and Keynote Speaker address followed by the unveiling of the Annual Convention Commemorative.
The highlight of the day is the  Members Only Auction which is held at the River Bluff Education Center Gym. Members registered for CrockFest can preview and attend the Members Auction. This auction brings over 500 qualified buyers to CrockFest each year. Its lots consist of high-quality Stoneware, Art Pottery, Dinnerware, and other unique items submitted by members.


FRIDAY – Education and Social Events
A fun-filled day of learning more about Red Wing.CrockFest attendees will have the opportunity to view a full slate of educational topics.

CrockFest is a family event. Kids View of Red Wing is designed to encourage and educate the next generation of collectors. The Kids View education experience is tailored to kids aged 5-16 and is followed by a hands-on learning activity. The day finishes with the Kids Only Show and Sale. Young collectors can add to or create their own collection by buying pieces at the Show and Sale using special Red Wing Bucks. The Show and Sale is made possible with donations from RWCS members. Parents and grandparents register your child/grandchild for Kids View and let’s continue the legacy!

The RWCS also holds its annual Members Business Meeting for the organization. This is the members’ opportunity to hear more about the club’s operational news, Convention so far, upcoming events, and other organization business as the agenda outlines.

Friday Night, join fellow collectors for a night of great food, music, and friends.


SATURDAY – Show and Sale
To cap off the CrockFest event, members are greeted with coffee and donuts as they wait for the annual Show and Sale at the River Bluff Gym. The Show and Sale will feature over 40 dealers set up to sell Stoneware, Art pottery, Dinnerware, Memorabilia, signs, and much more.
