Blue Shadows dinnerware
Question:
Hi. I have an oval platter, two dinner plates, five salad plates, and a sugar bowl w/ lid in what I believe is the Blue Shadows pattern. One of the dinner plates has a chip on the edge. Can you tell me a little something about this dinnerware, and if it has any value? The platter is 13" x 9", no mark. The plates are 10-1/8" and are marked RED WING HAND PAINTED OVENPROOF U.S.A. and 245. The salad plates are 7-1/2" and are marked the same as the lg. plates, except they have the number 216. The sugar bowl does not have a mark. They are all in excellent shape, except for the chipped plate, and there are stilt marks on the bottom of the sugar bowl along with what I think are glaze pops, also on the bottom. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Gretchen

Brushed Ware glaze water cooler stand
Question:
Hi, I have this Red Wing Union Stoneware water cooler that stands 13" tall, and is 9-3/4" wide at the base. The base has four holes in the outer edge as well and is not glazed. There is not top to this piece and it has a yellow/greenish glaze on the inside. It has a metal spigot that works just fine and the marking I can only make out Red Wing Union Stoneware and MINN, but I can’t make out anything else (I have 3 more pictures, including the mark at the bottom.. I would appreciate any information, thanks a bunch! ~Chris
Answer: Hi Chris
this is a water cooler, done is Brushed Ware glaze, so it would date to around 1930 or so. I know of one, that has a partial paper label on it. Think it is radium water, from somewhere in Minnesota. I don’t know of any shape #, and it is just one of those odd forms that shows up every so often. Nice item, value is around 300.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

4 gallon Water Cooler – Red Wing
Question:
Hello. I have a quick question. I have a Red Wing water cooler 4 gallon. It is in near perfect condition with great color, no chips or cracks. The black mark shown below the wing is under the glaze. It is only missing the spigot. I think it may be missing the spigot because it looks un-used. Did these come w/ the spigot seperate when new? Also can you please give me an idea of the value? I cannot find another like it, in 4 gallon. Thank you for your time. Jessica
