Question:
Hi, I just bought a 10 gallon crock with large wing and no bailed handles. The oval stamp has the word Union above the phrase Stoneware Company. Similar to the oval style I’ve seen on Birch leaf crocks. Most Winged crocks I’ve seen have the oval with the phrase Union Stoneware Company on one line. What is the difference in age and value? Thanks Matt

15 gallon, Minnesota Stoneware, Elephant Ear Transition Crock
Question:
I found this 15 gallon crock. I think it’s a salt glaze because of the darker color (tan). It is 18 1/2 inches tall and the 15 is in blue and measures 3 inches across and length. Is this an Elephant ear pattern? It is dark inside almost black. I’ld say a really dark brown. Beautiful lines on the inside. The crock has no cracks in it. The handles are chipped on both sides though. What is the year of the crock and the value. Oh, I almost forgot the Pattern is in black. Thanks Sharon

Red Wing 1099, Lillies of the Valley vase
Question:
I have a Red Wing Vase with the number 1099 on the bottom. It has some crazing that comes with age but not too bad (in my opinion). It has no chips. I would like to know the pattern, color name, and value if possible. It measures 8 inches tall and 4.5 inches across. thanks so much.Thank you Laura
Answer: Hi Laura
this dates to 1941. think the glaze is luster green or yellow, it’s a little hard to tell from the pic. The pattern looks to be lillies of the valley, but the vase doesn’t have a specific name. Value is around 50.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
