5 gallon, Red Wing Potteries, Brown Top Jug

Question:
we recently acquired an atypical five-gallom brown top, zinc-glazed shoulder jug. in size and style, it is similar to our other five gallon shoulder jug. however, it is different in that: 1) there is no wing on the jug; 2) the number "5" on the jug is not the typical red wing stamped five but rather a much smaller one-half inch tall number; and 3) the oval reads "red wing potteries, inc. red wing, minn". we have not seen a jug like this; can you shed some information on this find?

Red Wing B1492, Belle Kogan Vase

Question:
Hi – I have this Red Wing Vase B1492. I have not been able to find another on the web. Kind of unusual with the 3 openings on top. I have a collection of Red Wing and only keep them if they are mint. This one does have a crack on the top – so I wouldn’t normally keep it for myself – but if it is rarer so the crack doesn’t hurt the value – well then I might change my mind – so I guess I am asking the value and age. Measures approx 7 3/4" tall. Thank You

Answer: hello, it’s a B1429, circa 1954. Not terribly rare, with the crack value is around 35.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

I’d like to know the proper name for this and have any idea of a BV? I do have more pictures available. Bill
