Red Wing Sponge Bowl?
Question:
I have a gentleman who wants to sell me what he say’s is a 5" spongeware mixing bowl. I have looked at it and I’m not sure if it is really a Red Wing piece. There are no markings on the bottom and the outside of the bowl has a shiney glaze finish and is smooth, no ridges. The red and blue sponging color is more vibrant than some of my other pieces of spongeware. Is there any real way to tell if this is truley a Red Wing piece. Thank you for your help. Julie

Blue Vase with white inside
Question:
HELLO AND THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. I CAME ACROSS THIS PIECE IN A JUNK SHOP AND I FELT IT MAY BE REDWING. I JUST WANTED SOMEONE MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE TO LET ME KNOW. IT HAS NO MARKINGS. IT IS 4 3/4" TALL, 3" ACROSS THE BASE AND 3 1/2" ACROSS THE LIP.
Answer: Hi, Red Wing did make these cups, we call it the "monk" design. But I think this one was made by someone else. The dark blue glaze was usually made by RRP from Ohio. Sometimes the molds got sold from maker to maker. Value around 10.00

Red Wing 155
Question:
please tell me about a blue vase 8 & 13/16 in. high with two handles at top 3 1/2in. long at outer edges & because I’m uneducated as to proper terms to use I will just say the blue seems to be a glaze & is not a solid blue, but is mottled as in darker places then lighter then even taupe-ish places. on bottom within a blue circle says "number 155 red wing ware". thank you in advance for any help from you. njh
Answer: Hello, your item came in 3 sizes, with this being the smallest. It’s from around 1930. The glaze may be dark blue or "cobalt", it kind of varies in thickness, giving it an uneven look. Value is around 90.00. thanks, steve n rose

The flowers are painted on top of the glaze (are not glazed over.) The lid has a few chips and a hairline crack. The pot is in good condition. Thanks for your help.
