Artist In the Park Figure

Question:
I bought this statue at a local thrift store last week. It has a Red Wing crock he’s holding up on his shoulder. I believe this is some type of commemorative item, but I don’t know for sure. It’s dated 1984 on the base of the crock and has a number "67" on the base of the crock also. There are no other markings, unless the statue is marked under it’s base. If so, I can’t look at the bottom of it’s base, because it’s mounted on a wooden base. The statue measures 16 1/2" tall. I would really love to find something out about this. Thanks in advance.

Nokomis Glaze

Question:
I was not able to send a picture of my vase from this page so I will describe it. I have a vase that has a Nokomis glaze. The vase has a circular blue ink stamp on it\’s bottom that reads Red Wing Art Pottery. The vase has a five inch diameter top. From the top, the vase tapers in to provide a slender neck which meets a bulbous body. Two handles directly across from oneanother are attached to the top and curve down and join the bulbous body. The bulbous body is approximately nine inches in diameter. The vase is approximately nine inches high. The vase strikes me as having a Mediterranean or Phoenician art form. The vase has beautiful vibrant coloration over its entire body. The only flaw I see on this vase is a flat spot that appears on the top of one of the handles. The flat spot is slightly smaller than the size of a dime. The flat spot has the same coloration as the rest of the vase. Their are no hair line cracks or crazing on this vase. The vase I have just described I have seen on the front of a book on Red Wing Pottery. Please provide any information you have on this vase. Do you have an idea of what the desirability and value of this vase would be? Thanks for your help.

10 gallon Water Cooler

Question:
Recently I came across a piece of Red Wing Pottery in southern Indiana. It is a 10-gallon water cooler with the Red Wing symbol on the front of it. The stamp very clearly says "Red Wing Union Stoneware" which leads me to believe it was made sometime between 1906 and 1936. The original spout and handles are still on the piece as well as the original lid. It is in excellent condition with only a few very minor chips on the inside of the lid. Can you give me an estimate on this piece? Kim
