Big Boy Water Cooler – Red Wing
Question:
I have a "Big Boy", Water Cooler. I think it is a 10 gal. it is 18" high and 12" wide at the inside top opening. it is in great condition. Not sure what "decorations" mean but the marking on it are as follows: Water Cooler in blue with 6" redwing below. Stoneware emblem below the redwing and spout hole below that. The oval emblem type designates it as a Zinc glazed Water Cooler from 1917-1918. I am looking for an estimated value on this piece. It is for sale. William

Brown Top Jug Bottom Marked Red Wing Stoneware
Question:
I have an old stoneware jug that was found, buried with a brown topped whiskey jug, under the porch of my parents’ farmhouse. The word "Redwing" is drawn into the clay on the bottom before it was fired rather than stamped. The handle of the jug is rather crudely attached. I haven’t been able to find a comparison piece to estimate it’s is worth,if anything. There are no other marks on it. Carrie

Sponge ware bowl with advertising
Question:
Hello – this little stoneware bowl measures 3 1/2 across top and 3 3/8" tall. I don’t see any marks on it other then the advertising inside. Light crazing on the glossy glaze, no nicks/chips anywhere. There’s some light drip shaped (stray glaze?) staining on the inside near the top, and a faint diagonal line on the inside, I’m being very fussy here. No lid. Just wondering if this is a Red Wing piece, I’m guessing it’s a sugar bowl, and it’s approx. value. Thanks, Jeff
