Question:
Al, thank you for your reply on the Reid, Murdoch crock being a pickle dispenser. We thought that from pictures on the site and from what we have read in books. My concern is the letters are stenciled with only one store locations, plus the handle where the hardware should go, runs horizontal not vertical like the ones on this site. Can you give me any in-site to these differences and how the hardware might have worked with this handle? There is nothing on the opposite side, like shown in the other pictures, that latch the lid down. Thanks for your time. Dale

6 gallon double leaf salt glaze crock
Question:
I picked up this crock at a flea market in south eastern Indiana today. I have several Red Wing pieces at home (oval and red wing logo). I am curious if this piece is Red Wing. Could you tell me approximately how old it is? In your opinion, what price would this bring at a sale? It is in excellent condition with only a few very small knicks on the handles. There are no cracks. I’ve never seen one like this in Indiana…Bee Stings are everywhere, but nothing like this. Thank you for any information you are able to provide. Melissa

Half-gallon pail, Grey Line Sponger Band butter pail
Question:
Dear Expert, I have this half-gallon plant pot with a blue mark on the bottom that says ‘made in red wing’. It also has an inscription that says ‘5’. I’m a little confused, because ‘made in red wing’ doesn’t necessarily mean that is from the redwing company. What would you say? It has a pretty large crack, anyway. thank you Henrieke

4 gallon Red Wing Crock
Question:
I just found this Red Wing crock at my mother’s estate and wish to sell it. Can you tell me about the age and (possible) value? I have more pictures on my gallery at "gallery.me.com/tsgllcidaho" The dimensions are 12 inches tall and 11 3/4 inches across with rim. Inside 11 inches deep and 9 3/4 across. It has a fracture on the bottom you can see on my gallery site. I filled it with hot water and it does leak a little but not profusley. It can be sealed, but not mint for sure. Thank you for your time and experience with these items. Arthur

Question:
Hello Experts! The attached picture is of my father’s Crock Collection. Most are Red Wing Pottery, one is Western Stoneware Montreal and one is a 2 gal with a "pentagram" with a 2 in it. My father used many of these to make sour kraut through the years. The 8 gal has handles but one handle fitting is broke off. The 12 gal Western has both handles. I would appreciate an estimated value of the entire collection and/or of individual crocks. Thank you so much! Paula
