5 gallon leaf crock which is encrusted with pickling residue

Ok I quit! I have a 5 gallon leaf crock which I recently picked up at a garage sale which is absolutely encrusted with pickling residue.. I have tried vinegar (useless) comet (also useless) Sodium Hydroxide (also useless) boiling water (equally useless) TSP (dosent have enough power to get out of its own way) Soooooooo how the heck do I get this stuff off??? I’ve even used a razor bladed knife.. which chips away at some of it… but really dosen’t work all that well either :((( . What’s the trick ??? sandblasting??? Walnuts? HELP!!! Thank you. Godfrey

Red Wing 12 gallon salt glaze Butterfly and flower decorated crock

I have a Red Wing 12 gallon salt glaze Butterfly and flower decorated crock, it has a very thin hairline about 10" to the right of the butterfly and number, and a small chip on the inside rim, and some small discoloring, I am under the assumption that the 12 gallon butterfly decoration, is less common than the ten and fifteen gallon, I am asking $750.00 for the crock, am I in the ball park, thank you. I have a brown jug with the number 6 at the top of the jug, i have researched about the jug and beleive it to be a minnesota stoneware jug. i can only find info for a 5gal jug. i have seen what a 5gal value is from the red wing stoneware identification and value guide copyright 1983 see page 22. i am also sending pictures. and below is appox measurements bottom- 12 3/4 to 13 inches height- 16 to 16 1/2 inches around center 43 to 45 inches im looking for a value, and if collector society is interested in purchasing this rare jug. We have a crock approximately one gallon in size; grey on the outside; dark brown on inside; no label or lettering on side. Embossed letters on the bottom in a circular pattern "Redwing Stoneware Co.
