Question:
I recently inherited 3 Red Wing vases and I’m wondering what the value of them is. One is a brown vase marked #964, a green vase #846 and a vase with an unusual finish #674. They are all in good condition. I don’t have pictures but could get them soon if needed. Thanks for your help. Karen
Answer: Hi Karen
If the 674 has handpainted horizontal lines, it’s from 1960, part of the Chromoline. Value on it is around 120.00 or so. I have an 846, from 1963, a fan shaped vase, part of the Belle line. Value is around 40.00 or so. The 964 sounds like it’s from the terra craft line, 1939, it has a rough texture to the outside. Value is around 80.00 on that one. Sometimes Red Wing re-used numbers over the years, so without sizes, or pics, it’s hard to really figure out what you have. thanks, steve n rose
Question:
I got this at a yard sale – the gentleman told me it was a piece of Redwng from 1918. It is 8" tall & 18" wide. It appears to be a base glaze color of brown with tourqoise, cobalt, purple & burgundy drizzled on it. It came with an "ancient" looking lamp piece sitting in it (electric) Janet
Answer: Hi Janet
It’s not a Red Wing shape, and I"m not sure who made it. Interesting glaze, and I assume it to be an older item, but that’s all I can tell you. Wish I could be of more help. thanks, steve n rose
Question:
I have a pale yellow vase marked Red Wing USA, #406. It’s 10" tall with a gray interior, no chips or cracks. The top opening is rectangular. The exterior is decorated with several leaf designs. THanks Ken
Answer: Hi Ken
Your vase is from 1952. The glaze is called chartreuse/gray lined. Value is around 35.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
Question:
I was given a red wing ware Vase that belonged my great grandmother is around 14ins tall green and white glaze handles at the top of the vase in mint condition no chips solid green inside the vase. on the bottom is a circle with red wing ware and the letters nh mared I think it is hard to read Patricia
Answer: Hi Patricia
from the bottom mark, it would be from around 1930. There are several forms that fit this height. In the circle, there should be a shape number, that will help me quite a bit. Prices vary with the shapes, but one this large should be worth around 150.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
Question:
I have a piece of Red wing Art pottery (I think it would come under the art.) I bought it at an antique shop about 25 years ago. I loved the dark navy color and shape. I want to find out the value now so I can pass it on to someone that may enjoy it as much as I have. It has Red Wing pottery on the bottom and the number 262 carved into it. Judith
Answer: Hi Judith
Your handled bowl is art pottery, from around 1931. The glaze is probably dark blue, (or cobalt). Value is around 80.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
Question:
Hi! I would like any information you have on a gladiolus vase #416-10". It is a smooth, creamy white glaze. Top is 10"W, bottom is 6", height 10 1/2". 5 holes, the largest in the middle. Lovely. both are designed by the same person, but these are from different timeframes. The bowl is from 1950,part of the tropicana line. Value around 30.00 or so. The candleholders were very popular shapes, and made for several years. Value around 35.00 for the pair. thanks, steve n rose
Question:
I have a candle holder that is shaped like a tulip. The tulip is where the candle goes and the base is shaped like three leaves. On the bottom is says: Red Wing, USA, and I believe the number is 1227 (the number is harder to read). It is a very light sandy color, almost a cream color. This was passed down to me from my mother-in-law and I’m wondering if it was actually an item that Red Wing made. I appreciate your expertise. Thankyou, Jane
Answer: Hi Jane
Yes, It’s Red Wing. Part of the Magnolia line, from 1946. There are several different shapes from this popular line. Value for the single is around 20.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
