5 gallon Red Wing Churn

Question:
Hi, I recently purchased this butter churn and I’m curious about the background & value. It is generally in good shape, with a little bit of crazing (on the back) and a few small chips, including 2 chips at the base (at the back) that are about 1 cm wide. The diameter of the base is about 11 inches, and the height is about 17 inches. It is quite heavy. It didn’t come with a lid. Barb

Answer: The butter churn was made in the early 1900s. Value range is about $100 to $150 without the lid and the chips.   Five gallons is one of the more common sizes Red Wing make.
