8 gallon large wing crock with lid

Question:
I’ve attached pictures of a crock that my husbands mother made pickles in. It has metal and wood handles and a lid. The only chip is on the lid. Can you tell me anything about it and what the value might be. The stamp that says "Patented in 1916 or 1917 I believe, I’ve attached a picture. It also has a oval mark that your sources say was probably placed on it between 1917 and 1918. Charlene

Answer: Charlene, your mother’s crock was produced by the Red Wing Stoneware Company right around 1915. The Patented stamp will read, Dec 21, 1915 however, it may have smeared a little when it was applied. Value for just the crock (after it is cleaned) is between $150 & $175. The lid would have a value (with the chip) in the area between $60 & $100 depending on the size of the chip. Al Kohlman
