hello, i purchased at a garage sale a "siegel & coo
per grocery dept. chicago ill."pottery one gallon jug. it is marked red wing minnesota on the bottom.so called turkey droppings are present on it. it shows some very useage minor wear but really no damage. i would say it’s in excellent condition. please tell how old is it & does it have possible value? thank you. Answer: Tom, I have now viewed the front of your Siegel Cooper & Company jug. It is indeed salt glazed and very rare. It books between $1300 & $1500. I would normally say that the book price in today’s market is a little high, but because your jug is so rare, I would stay on the high end of the book value. Very nice piece. Al Kohlman
