Question:
Hello: I recently bought a 9 1/2′ cherry band pitcher at low cost of suspect authenticity. It appears to be a Redwing advertising piece without any advertising. But there is no mark! Is this a reproduction or authentic? I have some pictures of the real deal and it appears to be looking the same. How can you spot a fake? I can have my husband send a picture later if needed. Thanks! Cynthia
Answer: Cynthia, there have been Cherry Band pitchers reproduced for commemratives and so, but these are usually smaller in size. Also, all the reproduced Cherry Band pitchers are stamped with either a date, maker or both. Original Cherry band pitchers are not marked. So I would think you have purchased an authentic Red Wing piece. Al Kohlman
