I have a five pound Gray Line butter jar with no lid or bail. It is in very good condition. The picture shows what I think is a production flaw in the middle of the side of the jar. What is its value? I bought it at a mall antique show in Detroit a few years ago. The dealer thought it was a hanging flower pot and didn’t know it was Red Wing. I knew better. Thank you.

Answer: Your sponge-band butter pail in mint condition without handle or lid would be in the range of $175 to $200. A lid would run you about $250 to $275 & handle around $20. Al Kohlman
