Question:
I have a Red Wing jar that has no picture of any sorts on it. It stands approx 11 1/2 inches high and is 7 inches in diameter. There are some hairline cracks in the surface. There are a few chips around the top edge and there is one ‘pockmark’ approx 1/4 inch in size where it appears there is no glaze. I’m trying to find out when it was made and how much it’s worth. Thank You Jon
Answer: Your Minnesota Stoneware shoulder jugs looks to be about a 1 gallon. These were produce by the Minnesota Stoneware Company anywhere from 1900 to 1909. In mint condition it has a value between $45 & $65. With the chips and cracks, your jugs value would be about half on the mint value. Al Kohlman
