Lexington beverage server

Question:
I was wondering what year this was made and is it a vase or a pitcher? this stands 11&1/2 inches tall,I don’t know anything about the glaze. There is a rose on the front and a rose on the back. It is in real good condition, just a tiny chip at the top. Lauren

Answer: The name of this pattern is Lexington, and the item in the photo is a beverage server (often called a coffee pot). Lexington was introduced in 1941 and was made until 1955. However the beverage server was not added to the line until 1949, so your item was made between 1949 and 1955. The beverage server in the photo is missing its cover. Compared to other Lexington pieces the beverage server is rather scarce because it was not available until 8 years into production. In mint condition it would be worth around $50. Without a cover and with a small chip the value would be reduced by 50 to 75%.
