RWCS Young Collectors Club: Continuing the Tradition

Thursday –  July 11, 2013 – Barn Bluff Hike & Picnic

Meet in front of the Art Room at 10:00am for a trip to hike up Barn Bluff and picnic lunch.  We will return to the High School around 1:00pm.  Be sure and bring Boots or Tennis Shoes and wear clothes that are suited for hiking. 

Young Collectors are needed to help with the Kids View programs Thursday afternoon and to assist Auction Chair Bruce Selfridge with the RWCS Auction on Thursday night.  Rain Plan will be bowling. Watch for email updates.

 Friday – July 12, 2013

Meet in the Art Room at 10:00am -12:00pm  Back by popular demand, Throwing on the Potters Wheel!!!!.  Golden State Chapter member Potter Frank Sheldon will teach the Young Collectors technique and design principals to create their own piece on the wheel.  The pieces will be fired and sent to the Young Collectors after the convention.

About Young Collectors

This program is for collectors between the ages of 13-20 that might be interested in history, art, and collecting. This program expands on the education and activities of Kids View and offers new advanced education and retention opportunities for young RWCS members who have graduated from Kids View.

 

The Young Collectors Cub was started at the 2011 Convention by Wendy Callicoat, after her 10 years of partnering with Sue Jones Tagliapietra to develop and launch Kids View. This program consist of educational seminars, field trips, networking, and hands on experiences.
