Katrina "Dutch Girl Cookie Jar" and Brittany Pitcher

I have two items from the Red Wing collection. The first is a cookie jar with a Dutch girl on top for the handle and is gold in color. The cookie jar is her dress with a tie on the back The other is a pitcher, off white in color with yellow and blue flowers painted on it and green leaves and measures about 9 1/2 inches high.The cookie jar is 11"in height. I am wondering about when these items were manufactured and if I could get an approximate value? Deb

Answer: The cookie jar is named Katrina. This jar was introduced in 1941 and made into the early 1950s. Katrina was made in several colors with yellow being the most common. A yellow Katrina in excellent condition is worth $75-100. Most Katrina jars have chips, cracks, stains or other damage and are worth considerably less.

Red Wing made many floral dinnerware patterns in the 1940s and 1950s. Your pitcher is probably from the Brittany pattern. Brittany was introduced in 1941 and made until 1950. A Brittany pitcher in excellent condition would be worth $35-50; once again any flaws or damage would reduce the value considerably.
