| Katrina "Dutch Girl Cookie Jar" and Brittany Pitcher |
|
Question: I have two items from the Red Wing collection. The first is a cookie jar with a Dutch girl on top for the handle and is gold in color. The cookie jar is her dress with a tie on the back The other is a pitcher, off white in color with yellow and blue flowers painted on it and green leaves and measures about 9 1/2 inches high. The cookie jar is 11"in height. I am wondering about when these items were manufactured and if I could get an approximate value? Deb
Answer: The cookie jar is named Katrina. This jar was introduced in 1941 and made into the early 1950s. Katrina was made in several colors with yellow being the most common. A yellow Katrina in excellent condition is worth $75-100. Most Katrina jars have chips, cracks, stains or other damage and are worth considerably less. |
