Question:
My grandmother had a piece of pottery that is ivory with Rumm Rill 492 and a sticker on the bottom. The piece is oval and has flower blossoms curved up on one end of the piece like a handle. It doesn't have any chips or damage. Can you tell me anything about this piece and its value? Sorry I can't upload a picture at this time, but will try later if needed. Thanks, Annette
Answer: Hi Annette
Your item is from around 1938, part of the Trumpet group. Red Wing made it, but it's part of the Rumrill lines. Nice to have the original sticker after all those years. value is around 85.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose |

Question:
I have a small Van Briggle vase that is slightly over 4' tall. It is two-tone in color with rose on the bottom portion and grey/blue on the leaves. I was able to find out that it is the Rhododendron Leaf pattern and made in the 1960s. On the bottom is the window pane emblem for the 1960's and the words "Van Briggle - Colo. Spgs. - M". Would you tell me what the "M" stands for and how much the vase is worth? Ben
Answer: Hi Ben
The window pane mark is the Van Briggle trademark, actually 2 conjoined A's. Sometime the finisher would put an initial on their work. This is a molded piece, if done on the wheel, it will have original, or handcarved, with the throwers initials. These usually sell for around 45.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose |
