Question:
I have two Swan Vases which stand 9 3/4" tall with a 3 X 6" base. They are a soft yellow dull or satin finish. I find no markings but thought they might be Red Wing or Haeger. Thanks so much.

I have a 9.5" vase. Light green in color with a floral arrangement of three flowers on both sides. On the bottom it is marked Red Wing with the #1196. I believe the piece is over 60 years old because it was given to my wife's parents for their wedding in 1947.

Question:
Just bought a Red Wing tepee ashtray at an antique store and was quite taken with it. On the bottom, it is marked Red Wing U.S.A. 827. It is also hand painted with the name Pauline '68 engraved in the bottom. I'm wondering if it wasn't painted by the owner. Look forward to your feedback.
Answer: The potteries closed in 1967, so this would have been done at a hobby shop, not at the potteries. cute decoration, though. Value around 15.00. thanks, steve n rose |
