2008 Convention Summary
The 2008 Convention marked the 32nd Anniversary of this RWCS event. The theme celebrated the 150th Anniversary for the state of Minnesota and the Convention theme was "Firing the Passion, Molding Minnesota History".

The 2007 Convention marked the 30th Anniversary of the RWCS (1977 - 2007). In addition to our anniversary the City of Red Wing also celebrated it's Sesquicentennial (1857-2007).

RWCS Commemorative History & Values
The annual RWCS Convention Commemorative has long been on of the Society's most treasured traditions. Almost from the beginning of the organization, the release of the annual Commemorative has been a highly anticipated event and a focal point of the Convention.


The Annual Commemorative is only available to Current members of the RWCS. Members can order to have their Commemorative mailed or picked up at the Convention. No comemorative are available for sale after the convention.

Kids View
The Kids View Program began at the Annual Convention in 2000 and in 2007 it was also added to the MidWinte GetTogether program. Kids View is for children ages 3 to 15 years of age. Each year the participants are offered a jam packed schedule of events. Some of the topics in years past have included:
  • Make Your Own Stoneware
  • Auction both Silent and Bidding interactive with Red Wing bucks
  • Paint a Red Wing Plate
  • Starting a Collection and show your display
  • Living history Presentations

Education
Education is a focal point of the RWCS Annual Convention. Each year the Education Manager puts together a education schedule filled with great learning opportunies for members. Education is held on the second day of Convention, Friday with three or four session break out times.
