Goodhue County Historical Society

Will be open during Convention!

The Goodhue County Historical Society (GCHS) will have access during the College Ave. road construction this summer. If you are planning to visit the historical society during Convention Week please make sure you have directions:

Just as you are coming into downtown, turn right on West Avenue (a one-way going up the hill). West Ave takes you past the post office and many of Red Wing's historic churches.  Turn right on Fourth Street.  Go nine blocks and turn left on Washington Street (just past Fairview Red Wing Professional and Community Center).  Go two blocks and turn left on Sixth Street.  Follow Sixth Street up the hill and past the Red Wing Golf Club.  The road curves to the left and turns into Williams Ave.   The History Center is straight ahead, a large red brick building.   The parking lot is on the left before the History Center.

Kids View: Tenth Anniversary - Brought to you by the number 10: Check out the exciting events for the children at convention. They are celebrating 10 years of educating our young members.

Show and Sale Floor Plan : Over 150 sellers have contracted for tables at the Convention this year. You are sure to find something for your collection. Open to registered members at 9:00 a.m. sharp! The public is welcome at 10:30 a.m.

For those coming early to convention we have a number of events going on in the Community you don't want to miss!

4th of July Central Park Band Shell - Celebrate the 4th of July and Grand Opening of the new band shell in Central Park located between East and West Avenue. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the park there will be music, food, and fun for everyone.

Cinema under the Stars: Following the 4th of July fireworks there will be a free showing of Independence Day (rated PG-13) in Bay Point Park. Click here to learn more.

RWCS Foundation Street Sale: On Sunday, July 5th, Downtown Red Wing is the annual street sale featuring many dealers selling antiques.

Concerts in the Park: On Wednesday, July 8 the Red Wing Arts Association will kick off their FREE summer concert series in Central Park at the New Band Shell. Performing during Convention Week is "Generation II Big Band." Step back and come and hear this great music performance beginning at 7:00 pm. Click here to learn more.
