Hello, We have a large set of redwing dinner plates that were my grandparents. They are "misthrows". My grandfather used to buy them from the warehouse about the early 1950′s. Bob White pepper mill and salt shaker

Question:
I purchased this Bob White tall salt shaker and pepper mill at a thrift shop for $2.99. I would appreciate any information you might have about the pepper mill. I’ve seen a similar Smart Set pepper mill on EBay, but haven’t come across any references to one in the Bob White pattern. The metal strip on the bottom reads " Verity Southall Altadena, Calif." Hamm’s Popcorn Set individual pieces

Question: What is the value of the individual pieces of the Hamm’s Popcorn Set.

 

Answer: 

The smaller bowls are worth around $200 each, the larger bowl $500 and the single salt or pepper shaker around $100.  These values assume the items are in excellent condition.  The large bowl has an obvious large chip, which would reduce the value by at least 50-75%. The pitcher was made in China, not by Red Wing, and does not belong with the other pieces.   I have no idea what the pitcher might be worth.

Lead Free and ok For food

Question:
Question for Larry R. I have inherited my parent’s dinnerware set for 12. On the bottom of each piece it says, " Red Wing Pottery, Hand Painted" in blue ink. The design looks like free hand pink flower and green leaves. all bowls have little handles. It all looks hand made. They purchased it in the 1950′s. My question is, is the pottery LEAD FREE and ok for food? Thank you, Myra Kelley

Kermis plate

I was given a redwing plate. I believe it is a Kermis pattern. The plate is approx. 8" (square-ish)and has a court jester in black and light blue with tan pattern that circles the court jester.
